Description
This two-day, in-person workshop provides an integrated overview of field and laboratory methods for characterizing foundation soils and waste residuals, with emphasis on the information needed to support geotechnical evaluation and design of dams, earth structures, and tailings or waste-storage facilities. Leading experts from academia and industry will discuss laboratory characterization, geophysical methods, cone penetration testing (CPT), vane shear testing, sampling quality and disturbance, emerging approaches such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and advanced CPT interpretation, and practical case studies.
